New Roadside Site Launch: drjamesamiller.com

Dr. James Miller received so much praise for his previous flash site, built by Roadside, that it was a somewhat hard decision for him to move into a new HTML site. The cool “laser” animation and other graphics featured in his former flash website were definitely eye-pleasing to patients, but Dr. Miller’s site wasn’t performing as well with SEO rankings as we knew an HTML site would. Keeping the branding and color scheme from his original site, we created a sharp looking new site for Dr. Miller that pleases both patients and search engines.
Some unique features of www.drjamesamiller.com:
Having before and after photos along with case study descriptions on the new site was very important to Dr. Miller. We were able to design and build his Smile Gallery in a way where you can easily navigate through the patient cases and read patient-friendly descriptions of the services performed.
It’s always great to be able to put a name to face, which is why we designed the Testimonials section to have the patients’ photos alongside their name and testimonial. We love when our clients have both kind comments and beautiful photos to showcase together for each patient!
Dr. Miller and his team wanted their site to be educational but also used as a reference for before and after treatments. Since they often perform oral surgeries, we created an entire Patient Care section with pre- and post-operative care instructions, as well as FAQs and patient forms.
Dr. Miller needed a website that was easy to navigate, informative, persuasive, and beautiful. By combining tried-and-true marketing techniques (making the phone number prominent and the “request an appointment” forms easy to find) with personal touches from the practice (testimonials to accompany patient photos), we’ve accomplished our goal!
Recipe of the Month: Chicken Wings with Chili-Lime Butter
February 3rd, 2012
Posted in Recipe of the Month
Just in time for the super bowl, impress your friends with chicken wings that are a little out of the ordinary. These are super easy and require no deep frying! Although, there is a BIT of butter…these have been adapted from Tyler Florence and I’ve added my own twist along with a refreshing dip.
Chicken Wings with Chili-Lime Butter
Ingredients
- 4 pounds chicken wings
- Extra-virgin olive oil
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted a bit
- 2 big, fat rounded tablespoon Thai red curry paste
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 lime, halved
- Chopped cilantro leaves, for garnish
- Hot sauce to taste
Directions
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
Rinse the wings under cool water and pat dry. Put them in a bowl, drizzle with olive oil and season well with salt and pepper. Toss to coat with the seasoning. Then spread the wings out on a baking sheet and roast about 25 minutes until the skin gets crisp and brown, and the meat is tender.
While you wait, throw the butter, red curry paste honey and soy sauce into a blender. Season with salt and puree. Take the wings out of the oven and brush with some red curry sauce you made and put until broiler until caramelized. When the wings come out of the oven add to the bowl along with the curry butter. Squeeze the juice of the lime over the wings. Sprinkle hot sauce over to your taste. Give it a toss and you’re done. Spread on a nice platter and scatter over cilantro.
Dipping Sauce:
- 1 cup greek yogurt
- 1-2 teaspoons honey
- ¼ cup chopped chives
- ¼ cup chopped cilantro
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- Dash of cumin
- Half a cucumber peeled seeded and diced finely
- Dash of hot sauce
- Salt and Pepper
Mix all together and salt and pepper to taste.
These will get devoured while you and your friends root on your favorite team during Sunday’s Super Bowl. Enjoy!
Recipe of the Month: Brady’s Famous Hungarian Soup
January 30th, 2012
Posted in Recipe of the Month
If you’ve ever called Roadside’s tech support you’ve probably spoken with Brady, who is an expert at helping solve technical issues and who also works on our Local Services team. This month he teamed up with Brigitte and shared his recipe for Hungarian Mushroom Soup. They put together this delicious soup on a chilly, gray, winter day and it was an absolute hit with everyone in the office. (I’m pretty sure everyone had second helpings).

New FastTrak Site Launch: issaquahmoderndentistry.com

We are very excited to announce the launch of one of our first FastTrak dental websites! Dr. Eric Jorgensen and his wife, Rose, worked enthusiastically to help us make the most beautiful site for their practice: Modern Family Dentistry of Issaquah. Dr. Jorgensen and Rose carefully selected each photo for their site to strike an emotional chord with prospective patients and to encourage them to want to learn more. They wanted their patients to relate easily with the stock images they selected and eventually, they plan to use actual patient photos throughout their site.
Dr. Jorgensen chose the FastTrak design “Traveler.” Traveler is a very beautiful template option because of the large welcome movie and the soft background textures. Another great thing about this template is the scrolling call to action bar. On every page there is a contact us button, but additionally, at the top of every page there is a bar that scrolls with you so the phone number and social media are always available to a potential patient. This makes it extremely easy for a new patient to contact their office if they want to make an appointment.
Prior to working with Roadside, they had an old site with another company, but it did not have a very strong online presence. The area they serve is highly competitive, and understanding that they needed better visibility on search engines, they came to Roadside seeking assistance. Our marketing team came up with a plan of action designed specifically for Dr. Jorgensen, strategically considering their target market and their specific needs. We are positive that our monthly work on their behalf will greatly help them attract new patients!
New Roadside Site Launch: vaildentistry.com

Upgrading Dr. Jonathan Haerter’s simple flash site to a stylish and functional HTML site was a no-brainer—Dr. Haerter’s old site just didn’t do his practice the justice it deserved! With a new logo, new office photos, and plenty of new special offers to showcase, we had a ball designing and building a new site for Vail Dentistry!
Some unique features of www.vaildentistry.com :
In order to make navigating the site easy, we anchored the main menu to the top of every page. That way, no matter how far down patients scroll, they always have the entire menu at their fingertips.
Vail Dentistry loves their patient family and therefore have several different special offers to highlight on their site. We designed an eye-catching Special Offers thumbnail right on the home page, and once clicked, a savvy “coupon” image opens with all of their special offers detailed. These can easily be changed by Dr. Haerter through our Updates process throughout the year.
Dr. Haerter and his team are very active in the Vail Valley community and love to give back. They submitted several fun newspaper clippings and photos which we were able to design a Community Involvement page around. Organizing so many items on our flash sites is difficult—now with HTML technology it’s easy!
Dr. Haerter’s old flash site was perfectly functional, just missing the pizazz and infrastructure needed to highlight the various photos, videos, galleries, and other fun items they provided us. Now their patients can easily explore the website and learn more about this multi-faceted practice!
New Roadside Site Launch: drgregpyle.com

Dr. Pyle has been a loyal customer with Roadside since we launched his first site back in 2006! Although this website had worked well for Dr. Pyle, it was time to upgrade to a new and improved HTML site. With a new logo and color scheme created, we had more than enough design inspiration for Dr. Pyle’s new site! We’re excited for patients to explore University Avenue Dental’s sleek site and take advantage of the new features.
Some unique features of www.drgregpyle.com:
Dr. Pyle had a new (and fabulous) logo created so we decided to feature it by having it “overlap” down over the rest of the content throughout his site. This ensures that the branding of his practice is prominent.
We love how Dr. Pyle is so active with his social media. His new site encourages patient interaction by having a link to his Facebook page right in the welcome movie!
The inner pages feature informative and persuasive “pull quotes” to encourage patients to call and ask more questions. In case a patient doesn’t want to read the entire page of content, they can quickly learn about the benefits of a specific service or feature of the practice. And because they’re showcased right on each image, they’re sure to catch attention!
Most of our new HTML websites have the doctor’s contact information easily accessible at the top of every page. We went a step further with Dr. Pyle’s site by adding an orange Google review icon to his Call-to-Action bar. We all know how important Google reviews are!
Dr. Pyle’s website now matches the beautiful new logo, office décor, and overall branding of his practice. This site has a lot of fun design elements that aren’t seen on any other website we’ve created—we know his current and new patients will be “wowed” by the look and feel!
January Special: QR Code Printed Materials
January 4th, 2012
Posted in Dental Internet Marketing, Mobile Commerce, Roadside Promotions
Yesterday we posted about the momentum we are seeing in mobile marketing and the use of QR (quick response) codes. Use of printed QR code materials in your dental practice can result in increased Facebook likes, continual engagement with patients online, and a steady rise in positive patient reviews on sites like Google and Yelp.
How can you use these marketing tools to maximize results?
The team here at Roadside Multimedia is thrilled to introduce several options for QR printed materials, specifically designed with dental marketing in mind. Here are a few of our new products that you could use in your own practice:
QR Displays: These beautiful displays are designed to stand freely and to take up minimal space at your front desk or in other high-traffic areas in the office. The most ideal location for at least one of the displays is on the front desk or near where guests check in or check out. Get your staff involved in encouraging patients to scan the codes with their smart phones! As they check a patient out, they can point to the display and encourage the guest to write about their experience on Google. Or, point to the Facebook code and mention that your current promotions and specials can be found on Facebook once the guest “likes” the page!
QR Take-Home Cards: For guests that don’t have smartphones, send them home with one of these convenient cards. The URL for your Facebook page and for your Google review page are listed out on these compact, business cards to allow people to find your page easily once they go back to their home or their office. Consider placing these cards in take-home goodie bags as well.
QR Appointment Cards: These convenient appointment cards contain appointment and contact information on one side, and a QR code and URL for your Facebook page on the other side. Since patients are likely heading home with an appointment card anyways, these are an effective tool to “continue the experience” – encourage patients to interact on your Facebook page and keep them engaged with excited promotions, enticing special offers, and opportunities for last-minute bookings.
The new year is a great time to implement these new tools and to get your staff excited to use them, and so Roadside is excited to share QR SPECIAL OFFERS for the month of January! Choose from one of the packages listed below:

Brigitte’s Recipe of the Month: Poached Pears in Red Wine
December 14th, 2011
Posted in Recipe of the Month
Roadside’s resident foodie, Brigitte, has supplied us with another delicious recipe for the month of December. This decadent dessert is definitely guest-worthy and is sure to wow the crowd. Enjoy!
Poached Pears in Red Wine with Mascarpone Cream
1 750-ml bottle dry red wine
2 scant cups sugar
2 cups water
1/2 cup orange juice
2 teaspoons grated orange peel
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1 cinnamon stick
4 firm but ripe pears, peeled, stems left intact
1/2 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup mascarpone
1 Tablespoon powdered sugar
1 Tablespoon crystallized ginger chopped
Butter crisp cookies
Combine first 7 ingredients in heavy large saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves and mixture comes to simmer. Add pears and return mixture to simmer. Reduce heat and simmer slowly until pears are tender when pierced with knife, about 25 minutes. Transfer pears to plate. Boil liquid in saucepan until reduced to 3 cups, about 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, whip cream until almost set; add sugar, mascarpone and ginger and whip until thick enough to dollop.
Arrange 1 warm pear and some wine sauce in shallow bowl. Top with some cream and a cookie!

Featured on many popular television programs and mentioned countless times in print, Dr. Brian McKay is a leader in the cosmetic dentistry world. Many other dentists look to him and admire what he’s done for the industry, especially in treatment of eating disorders. We provided Dr. McKay a sleek and organized website with a mission to educate and convert patients!
Check out some of the unique features of www.acld.com:
Dr. McKay is so well-known and respected in dentistry, we featured him as the first slide in his welcome movie, as well as lower on the home page. It’s important for patients to recognize Dr. McKay and featuring him prominently on his website helps brand the doctor himself, not just his practice.
One of Dr. McKay’s greatest assets is registered dental hygienist, Cris Duval. She’s as experienced as they come and the new site has an entire page devoted to Cris! Her interesting and easy-to-understand online consultation videos (cleverly-named Cris’ Corner) are featured on this page and really help patients understand the importance of good oral hygiene.
Implant dentistry can be overwhelming, scary, confusing, and misleading for patients who are unfamiliar with it. Dr. McKay had some wonderful patient testimonial videos created so people could hear real patients talk about the procedures. They also discuss barriers patients may find about dental implants (pain, financial worries, etc) and combat them very effectively!
Dr. McKay’s new site is like a breath of fresh air—it’s easy to navigate and quite informative without being encyclopedic. Roadside Multimedia is proud to create a website for a dentist who is so widely known and respected! Take a look at www.acld.com and let us know what you think of the new site in the comments below!
