Planning any event can be a stressful experience. There are a lot of details to think about: creating invitations, sending them out, decorating, preparing food, and more. However, Google+ has a new feature that can make planning an event for your dental practice simple and fun. By using the new Event feature on Google+, you can invite patients to anything from a patient appreciation day to a charity drive. Making it easier to connect with and interact with your community, Google+ Events can be a useful tool for your dental practice.
The new Google+ Events tab can be found on the left side of your Google+ profile, in the tool bar. Also, it can be found in the “Share what’s new” bar.
With Google+ Events, you can enjoy your event with your patients before, during, and after it happens. Your patients can get involved by commenting on your event page and even by sharing their own photos from the event. Click the link below to watch the official introductory video from Google+.
Some highlights from the video:
Theme
Google+ Events allows you to choose from a selection of themes for your event page. You also have the option to upload your own theme.
Event Options
Basic event options give you the choice to allow guests to invite friends or add photos. Advanced options include ticketing options and more.
Circles
Choose which circles you would like to invite to your event.
Calendars
The event links with your Google calendars, so your guests can instantly know if they are able to make the date.
Say Something
The event admin/creator and guests can share comments on the Events page.
Add Photos
This feature allows you to add photos directly from your phone or computer. This is a great thing to do during the event, or afterwards, so people can access the event photos all in one place.
After your event, it will appear on your profile and you can share it with others on their Google+ profiles. The Event admin can edit or delete the event by clicking on the “Action” button.
The Events feature is a great way to introduce your patients to Google+ and to help them see the benefits of using it! Some events you might think about planning could include:
- Free dentistry day
- Community clean-up at a local park or landmark
- Kids’ day
- Special fitness or health-related event
The possibilities are endless! We’d love to hear your ideas: what kind of an event do you think you could host using Google+ Events?
